I just put this on today for the first time in forever and I’m actually shaking at how bad it is. Like, how was I unironically bumping this back in the day? 💀
The production is that specific brand of "epic" 2011 Alex da Kid slop that aged like milk, just loud for no reason and super dated. And the chorus? Skylar Grey was really in the trenches doing the most, it’s so melodramatic and corny.
But the real criminal here is Em. I think I was just in my "Em is the Rap God" delusional era because hearing him now is painful. It’s that aggressive screaming/crying flow that feels so forced. Looking back, this had to be the start of the downfall. The technicality was there but the vibes were in the gutter.
Am I crazy or does this song just not hold up at all? Is there anyone who still unironically thinks this is a top-tier collab?
