New to this thread but curious as to opinions on this topic. I go to a lot of shows - rap, pop, metal, emo, etc. I see a lot of small acts that are able to afford touring - and I'll be seeing NBA Youngboy this summer. When I saw the YB tour, I instantly asked "why isn't Quando Rondo an opener for YB?".
Thought about it some more and realized there are so many rappers that aren't touring. YB and Lil Baby have arena tours this year but where are the lesser known or currently less relevent rappers playing these days? I'm in California so it could be that the audience just isn't as strong out here so they stay in their respective areas but still doesn't make complete sense. Even some of the biggest names don't seem like they're performing anymore.
42 Dugg, Griselda, Big Krit, Boosie, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, YTB Trench, EST Gee, Future, Gucci, Hotboii, Maxo, Moneybagg - just to name a few. Can't remember the last time any of these guys toured
If anyone is able to lend some insight as to why this might be, it would be very appreciated!
