To better describe it, I mean albums like Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers, Chromakopia, etc. Kendrick and Tyler are the best examples of this because it went over themes of trauma and healing, accountability and so on. I do think these albums were amazing and well put together, but I just think the replay value isn’t there. These two are my favourite artists, I love their music and have been listening to them for a long time. However, I do feel like these are the types of albums that are listened to once in a blue moon because I don’t find much replay value. The reason I think that is because with such themes and topics discussed in these albums, it doesn’t seem like something I would personally revisit constantly. The albums are very introspective and I feel as if you need to be in a specific mindset or mood to give these albums a listen. As well as a lot of these albums would also leave you a one-time impact like a movie you can watch that was really good, but wouldn’t watch again. In conclusion, I do love these albums but it really just feel like they’re a “sit-down and listen to” kind of albums, rather than music you would be listening to when you’re trying to vibe or do regular activities.
