Trap Rap Beats

Do you find lyricism or production more important in rap?

Personally, I think rap production matters way more than lyricism. You can still get people to vibe with a song even if the lyrics are trash. Some people say you can’t really make someone feel something just with a beat, but honestly, the beat sets the whole mood. Obviously, lyrics still matter and you should put effort into them—I do care about them to a point—but I just feel like production plays a bigger role in how a song hits. I’m just curious if other people feel the same way or the opposite, and why, since a lot of people have told me lyrics are more important.
