Saw 9th Wonder post about this being the inspiration for his name and reminded how crazy good and funky this album is. Lots of politics hidden beneath moody and jazzy beats which sound amazing at home, on a big system or headphones.
Dad bod rap bod did an episode where they talked about how this is a vibey album you can just chill with or dig deeper into. They also compared it to Trouble Man by Marvin Gaye which I had never thought but the similarities in instrumentation and atmosphere are so alike. https://podtail.com/podcast/dad-bod-rap-pod/episode-310-blowout-comb-retrospective/
Thoughts? Favourite songs on the album?
Mine changes between Graffiti, Jettin and Art of Easin or Borough Check and Blowin Down (I know that’s half the album), not a skip on it. 10/10 (though vocals could be clearer in the mix, it adds to the mood they create and rewards relistens) also love how the cover is like a black panther newspaper.
