Hi, I am 21 living in Prague but come from Slovakia. Me and my friend are doing some underground hip hop, (we are soon releasing first album). Now before explaining my issue, I think its good to address what music are we doing:
We both love lord of the rings, where the main sauron tower is called "Barad dur", so we came up with "Baradur gang" which is full of goblins. The first album that is coming is going to tell tales of the goblins raving in the Prague (e. g. How they invaded Prague, How they take "zerg" (from sc2) drugs to transform to Gremlins and make even bigger mess, how they jump ollies over burried guniea pigs and so they come to life and join baradur gang, How they roam Prague spraying grafiti and laugh at people in suits, etc.). The style is mostly boombap, with one song being this brutal DnB and one being more mellow.
However, as I said, we really want to keep the underground spirit. We love the idea that in the past, in order to listen to a track, you had to put in some effort (buying and playing a CD for example). We feel like this encouraged people even more to want to go to concert. We were thinking of uploading our music online only to soundcloud + 2 tracks with clips on youtube, other then that we want to launch CD (our mentality is, everyone listens on spotify so going to soundcloud is already effort).
We do not care about listens, we do not care about money, we only care about making a BANGER show with visuals, moshpits and we want people to experience show like never before, truly transforming the people in the club to the goblins for a moment.
We have a symbol that represents us (sauron eye that is high, since in Lord of the rings sauron is always watching, so in Prague we are always watching), we are spraying it on some abandoned/ugly walls (its not some tag, its a propper grafitty). We also collected empty cigaret boxes, we want to always put in 2/3 cigarets and note that says "You picked up this box to look for cigarets. Thats the goblin in you. Baradur gang" and throw them around in our favourite clubs.
What do you think of all this? Would you be interested in this kind of thing, or do you not vibe with this kind of stuff? Do you have any ideas about how we could improve this, how we could spread the word without getting on instagram/tiktok?
note: altho the idea is baed on lotr and there are punchlines to the movies, its subtle and you definitelly do not have to like the movies to get the music.
