Trap Rap Beats

What do y'all think makes the better Hip Hop song: a rap beef or a collab?

I just listened to the new Drake and J. Cole song, which I enjoyed, when this thought came to my mind. Which songs are stronger, if rappers collab or if they beef? I thought of iconic beef songs like "Hit 'em up" by Pac or "Real Muthaphukkin' Gs" by Eazy-E vs. huge collaborations like most songs on Whatch the Throne or Her Loss, Kids See Ghosts.

Of course, comparing the songs individually is pretty subjective. What I wanna know is, is a song more energetic/iconic if it's made out of working together or against each other?
