[DISCUSSION] Bubba Sparxxx - Deliverance (20 years later)

20 years ago Bubba Sparxxx released his sophomore album Deliverance. The album followed his debut album Dark Days, Bright Nights. For his sophomore album, Timbaland wanted to turn the country sound up, saying the album should sound like the Ugly video. And while Bubba wasn't fully convinced he went along with it. And what a decision it was.

While the album didn't sell a huge amount, it had a great critical response and is still brought up as an overlooked album from that era. Production on the album is covered by Timbaland and Organized Noize and really sees the producer melding the hip hop sound with the country sound. This is a really well produced album. And that's not taking anything away from Bubba himself who really brings his A game, coming across like a grizzled storyteller.
